02 FebPort of Genoa

Here are some shots from Genoa (Genova in Italian and G?nes in French) taken a couple of days ago. Genoa has a thriving maritime industry. Of course this ancient city state was once the major regional power. Its flag, the cross of St George, the red cross on a white background, was adopted by England and the City of London in the 12th century, so that their traders could sail these waters under the safety of the Genovese flag.
