29 JanLearjet 40

The Learjet is quite a contender in the competitive private jet market. Its cruise speed, cabin space, and technological advancement are greater than other light private jets . It has excellent range/payload flexibility and climbs quickly to elevations far above most air traffic and bad weather. Its range allows for nonstop flights from Chicago to San Francisco or from Singapore to Hong Kong — trips that few other light private jets could complete

The Boeing Business Jet is a member of the venerated 737 family. The 737s collectively have over 60 million hours of flight time and are still in high demand in the commercial aviation market. The BBJ sold more than a hundred planes in just four years of production, and orders continue to come in. No other private jet offers as much cabin space or reliability

23 JanHedge of the Week – Sentient Jet

Sentient Member upgraded from a boring midsize (Lear 60, Citation Excel or a Hawker) to this beautiful Challenger 604 for one of his flights and still saved 30% on the whole package Longstanding Sentient member recently flew with Regent Jet from Morristown, NJ to West Palm Beach for a four-day weekend. Sentient “Preferred Mid” rate for both legs: $36,446 including taxes and fees Regent Jet sourced a 2002 Challenger 604 (10 passenger heavy jet) for the outbound flight, and a 2001 Lear Jet 60 for the return, for $24,810.  Net savings: $11,636 (over 30%!!!) for an upgraded flight (from a likely Citation Excel or Lear to a Challenger 604) and a comparable flight (on the Lear 60).

21 JanBoat International Top 100

The February 2008 Boat International annual Top 100 megayachts issue is out. This year’s edition is a bumper issue, full of great detail about many of the larger yachts featured on this site, with each yacht in the Top 100 illustrated, and a pull-out table of the whole list. Dubai is still in number one spot, of course, while we wait for Eclipse to eclipse it
